Christmas & New Year Bash, 2021
We ended this year's activity with our virtual Christmas and New Year Bash. We had a virtual family get-together exclusively for the members on 26th December. It was fun filled evening of surprises and celebrations. We played games, exchanged gifts, had music and dance.
Santa Run, 2021
On December 19th, Rotary club Cochin Knights arranged a marathon " Santa Run". Autism club had a stall of artworks by our youngsters. In that function Vaishnav K from our club accompanied actress Mamta Mohandas in cutting the Christmas cake. He also sang a melodious song in the program at Grand Hayat.
On 1st August, we launched our a musical you tube channel -"Tune in" with an Independence day performance. The budding singers of our club have created a bunch of Onam songs. Some of these songs were included in the online Onam celebration of Wipro Team, Inforpark.
On 14th November, we published a flip book on Coffee paintings – “Brewing Art”. It is a compilation of 101 coffee paintings by 10 budding artists of our club. Link to the flip book-

These are done with instant coffee powder and water.
On 27th June, Autism club started a short term cookery course - "Sips & Slices". The course was conducted online. A separate WhatsApp group was created for support and discussions. Special video tutorials created by parents mentors were shared in the group. Parents as mentors, gave all guidelines, tips and support for the students. One recipe was shared every alternate week. Doubts were addressed in the group. Students also shared their videos in the group. A total of 12 recipes were taught.
Vocabulary activities specially designed for our children were given under the guidance of Sangeetha John. The winner of each activity was declared as the Word-Master of that week
Under the guidance of Ms.Deepthi Mathews, "Kittu & Manikutty", a video series on teaching the basics of computer, in a very fun, story telling manner was started.
We conducted a one day online workshop on 3 D Modeling on 5th June. We used Tinker CAD for learing this new skill and to print 3 D models.
As many parents were concerned about the precautions and care to be taken before/after anti-covid vaccination, we arranged a talk and QA session by Dr Anup Warrier, HOD, Department of Infectious Disease, Aster Medcity.
We understood that dance movements can help a lot our children, specially during this Covid-19 situation. This was an exercise for the whole body.The session was free, once in every 2 weeks, by Ms Angira, from Kolkota.
Bakery Practical Session
We had conducted many online classes on cooking, but due to Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to conduct practical sessions. As the pandemic situation became better rules were relaxed, we conducted a practical workshop on cookie making mentored by Ms.Anita Pradeep. Children enjoyed the process of making 3 different varieties of cookie.
“INCLUSION”
The “Ace Animators” team created an animated awareness video as a part of the World Autism Awareness Day. The character design, video editing, voice rendering etc were done by our children. The video which won the hearts of thousands, was released on the FB page of Lulu International Shopping Mall.
“I am a shining star”
April being the Autism Awareness Month, was celebrated whole heartedly. We exhibited the talents of our children, through various posters, images and videos in our FB page and WhatsApp group. We focused on the latest skill that the children learnt.
“Let’s discuss and inspire others”
Many parents, especially the young parents, have many doubts and apprehensions about how to raise and guide their young ones with autism. They were eager to share and learn from the experience of other parents, especially from the older parents on how they handled difficult situations and adolescence issues in their child's life. We started discussions on a particular topic, every month.
Online session on “Character Design”
As a continuation to the animation classes that we did, a segment on “character design” was conducted. These sessions helped in igniting the creativity and imagination of the ‘ACE Animators’ team members. Many wonderful characters took birth as a result of these sessions.
Little Hero
To encourage the participation of young children in the activities of our club, we started a challenge “Little Hero”, where the young ones were asked to display their talents. Certificate of Excellence were awarded to the top participants.
